History of SPIE BTS - From Sensormatic, ADT, Agis Fire and Security to SPIE BTS

The history of SPIE dates back to the 1990s, when it began its operations on the Polish market as PTH INTEGRA, distributor of the Sensormatic brand. In 2000, Sensormatic took over PTH INTEGRA, starting its own business in Poland, mainly oriented towards the retail market (RETAL). Shortly thereafter, in 2001, TYCO globally acquired Sensormatic, and operations continued under the ADT brand, with a focus on the retail segment.

At the same time, TYCO Fire and Integrated Solutions began operations in the Polish market, focusing on the commercial market, offering CCTV, SSWiN, fire and fire suppression systems. In 2003, ADT started its systems sales division, specialising in large projects, including fire protection. In 2007, ADT and TFIS merged, creating ADT Fire & Security, which moved its headquarters to Palisadowa Street in Warsaw.
In 2011, Tyco sold ADT Fire & Security to an investment fund, leading to the creation of Agis Fire and Security. In 2013, Agis acquired the resources of SSI, including the cost estimating, design and implementation departments, and a year later, in 2014, the company purchased NetSerwis. The turning point came in 2016, when SPIE acquired Agis Fire and Security, integrating all of its resources into its international portfolio of services.

Through acquisitions and mergers with companies such as Sensormatic, ADT, Agis Fire and Security, and SSI, SPIE has become a leading engineering services provider, offering end-to-end solutions in security, automation, building infrastructure and facilities management. Today, SPIE specialises in providing design, installation, service and maintenance services including electrical installations, security systems, HVAC, as well as advanced BMS and energy management solutions. The company combines the tradition and experience of previous companies such as TYCO, ADT and Agis Fire and Security with a modern approach to technology, making it one of the global market leaders in the area of engineering and technology. On 1 April 2025, the new company SPIE BTS was established. This happened by spinning off the range of low-voltage services, fire protection, electrical and teletechnical projects from SPIE Building Solutions. Thus, the 30-year tradition of providing services in the fire extinguishing and teletechnical services market continues under a separate company.
